Το Ινστιτούτο Νευρολογίας και Γενετικής Κύπρου προκηρύσσει μία (1) θέση μεταδιδακτορικού/ής ερευνητή/τριας με χρονική διάρκεια είκοσι (20) μηνών στα πλαίσια του έργου “SMALL SCALE INFRASTRUCTURES/1222/0095 Experimental Electrophysiology unit”, το οποίο χρηματοδοτείται από το Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας της Κύπρου.

We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the Neuroscience Department of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.
This position is for a period of 20 months.
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will work on the grant entitled “SMALL SCALE INFRASTRUCTURES/1222/0095 Experimental Electrophysiology unit” funded by the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF). The successful candidate will work on electrophysiological techniques such as patch clamp and in vivo or in vitro PNS recordings combined with gene therapy projects. The main aim of the project is to setup an electrophysiology unit and use electrophysiological techniques to evaluate the results of gene therapy in CNS and PNS neuropathies.
What We’ re Looking For:
- PhD degree in any Biological Science or closely related field
- Strong command of the English language
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Strong motivation and initiative to successfully complete the project
- Grant writing skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- PhD degree in Electrophysiology, Neurophysiology, Neuroscience or closely related field
- Previous lab experience especially in electrophysiological methods such as patch clamp, extracellular recordings from brain slices, recordings from PNS
- Previous experience in immunohistochemistry, EM processing, immunoblot, mouse handling and behavioural tests
