To Τμήμα Οικονομικών του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου δέχεται αιτήσεις για δύο (2)  θέσεις ερευνητών (μία (1) θέση  post-doc και μία (1) θέση pre-doc). 

Οι θέσεις αυτές σχετίζονται με το έργο PREFHET ("Preference Heterogeneity: Measurement and Implications for the Aggregate Economy"), το οποίο χρηματοδοτείται από το Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας Κύπρου στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος "Κέντρα Αριστείας". Επικεφαλής ερευνητής είναι ο Δρ Ανδρέας Τρυφωνίδης, και το έργο είναι σε συνεργασία με τον Kαθηγητή Σωφρόνη Κληρίδη & τις Kαθηγήτριες Έλενα Ανδρέου και Ελένη Αριστοδήμου.

Postdoctoral Fellowship - Position Overview:

We are seeking candidates with research interests in Structural Econometrics and/or Macroeconomics and/or Industrial Organization. Experience with large-scale datasets and/or structural modeling, including heterogeneous agent models, is considered a plus.

The position involves no teaching obligations and offers the opportunity to the candidate to fully focus on research.

• Start date: As soon as possible.
• Duration: One year, renewable up to two years.
• Qualifications: PhD in Economics or other related quantitative disciplines. We can also consider candidates who expect to complete their PhD soon.
• Responsibilities: The candidate is expected to actively contribute to the project, including developing/refining the methodology (estimation or quantitative modeling) and co-supervising the research assistant(s). The research papers produced are expected to be submitted to top peer-reviewed journals.

Pre-Doctoral Fellowship - Position Overview:

We are seeking candidates with a strong quantitative background and have an interest in applying their skills to challenging economic questions. The candidates will also have the opportunity to enroll in the PhD Program in Economics of the Department of Economics at the University of Cyprus (subject to being admitted, see here for the separate call for applications.)

The candidate will have the opportunity to gain research experience and further their analytical and quantitative skills.

• Start Date: Flexible.
• Duration: One year, renewable up to two years.
• Qualifications: MSc in Economics or other related quantitative disciplines. We can also consider candidates with a Bachelors degree if they can demonstrate that they have relevant strong quantitative skills.
• Responsibilities: The position will involve assisting the PI and the other collaborators on data/ modeling related tasks as well as some minor administrative tasks related to project management.
