MSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management-IHU-Call for Applications 2024

The School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Economics of the University Center of International Programmes of Studies of the International Hellenic University invites interested parties to apply for the Postgraduate Programme of Studies "MSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management" for the academic year 2024-2025. Teaching takes place at IHU premises through flexible learning methods exclusively in English.

The Academic Supervisor of the Postgraduate Programme of Studies is Associate Professor Korina Katsaliaki, Director of the Programme. The academics teaching on the programme come from universities both abroad and in Greece.

The MSc programme leads to the acquisition of a Master’s Degree. The official length of the programme is two full calendar years. This is a part-time programme (November till April) that includes taught courses and the completion of a master’s dissertation.

The International Hellenic University accepts, after a careful selection process, graduates from Greek universities or equivalent institutions from abroad, as well as from Technological Educational Institutions in related subject areas, according to Law 4957/2022 and 4610/2019, as applicable.

The MSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management of the International Hellenic University provides students with a broad and comprehensive body of knowledge and skills development in order to help them manage Tourism units.

The main objective is the acquisition of knowledge that aims towards developing successful decision making strategies and critical evaluation techniques on issues which pertain to Management in the broader discipline of Tourism while at the same time to provide practical orientation in relation to administrative and strategic issues in this rapidly developing area, both at national and international level. The programme also aims to provide sound knowledge needed for the formulation of strategies for Tourism units and organisations, with an emphasis on environmental law which permeates the discipline and which, in recent years has acquired increasing interest.

The selection of postgraduate students will be undertaken in accordance with the provisions of current legislation based on the grades received in first degree qualifications, the grades received on the thesis and undergraduate courses related to the MSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management, the candidate’s certified proficiency in the English language and the candidate’s curriculum vitae.

Interested parties are invited to submit their application by September 30th, 2024 or until places are filled, by following instructions at the link https://www.ihu.gr/ucips/shsse/applications.

Application documentation must include the following:

  • Α completed application form (a passport size photograph in digital form must also be attached in the application)
  • A detailed curriculum vitae
  • Copy of the first cycle degree. If the degree is from a non-Greek institution, the institution must be included in the National Registry of Foreign Recognized Higher Education Institutes of D.O.A.T.A.P – Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (Hellenic NARIC) in accordance with paragraph 4 of article 304 of Law 4957 /2022*.
  • Copy of the transcript of grades
  • Certification of English Language proficiency is demonstrated by submitting one of the following titles proving very good level: IELTS (academic 6.5 or above), TOEFL (95 or above), TOEIC (745 or above). In case of absence of these, other certificates of C1 level are also acceptable which prove, however, very good knowledge of English, according to those standards designated by the Greek Authority ASEP. Candidates who do not possess the relevant certification may submit an application on the understanding that, in order to be allowed to commence Postgraduate Studies, they must submit such a certificate September 30th, 2024
