Call for Applications – 2024-2025

The School of Film at Aristotle University (Thessaloniki, Greece) is accepting applications for its MA Program in Film and Television Studies for the academic year 2024-2025.

The Anglophone MA Program “Film and Television Studies” is an intensive three-semester program focused on the specialization and cultivation of advanced skills and knowledge of film and television studies of theoretical/historical orientation, the advancement of academic research, as well as the promotion of new scientific knowledge.

The program is taught by scholars of international standing and is designed to ensure your mastering the political, industrial, historical and aesthetic dimensions of film and television through a range of academic perspectives.

Eligibility Criteria

The categories of candidates that can be accepted in the Postgraduate Program of the School of Film are:

• Holders of bachelor’s degrees from Greek Higher Education Institutions or recognized foreign institutions of equivalent status*, as long as they submit officially recognized degrees.
• A Postgraduate Diploma cannot be awarded to a student whose bachelor degree from a foreign institution is not recognized by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition Information Center (NARIC) according to Law 4957/2022.
• Members of the categories Special Scientific Personnel (SSP), Laboratory Educational Staff (LES) and Special Technical Laboratory Staff (STLS) as long as they fulfill the requirements of the first passage of paragraph 1, article 34. Only one student of these categories can enroll as extra per year and per PP.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees are defined as follows:

• EU students: € 4,000.
• International students: € 6,000.

Payment is made in two installments based on the publication date of the list of successful candidates. The first installment of 2,000 euros (for students from the 27 EU member states) and 3,000 euros (for students from non-EU countries) is due no later than the end of July (after the approval of the list of successful candidates by the School of Film Assembly and completion of necessary procedures). The second equal installment is due by September 25, before the start of classes on the first working day of October. Tuition fees are paid to the Special Research Funds Account of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Incomplete payment of financial obligations constitutes sufficient reason for non-awarding of the Degree or removal from the Postgraduate Program. There is no possibility of refund after the payment of the first installment.
