The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece (ECE-DUTH) in cooperation with the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Athens, Greece (NCSR-D), calls for admission applications for the Postgraduate (M.Sc.) program with title: «Quantum Computing and Quantum Technologies».

Eligible candidates are:

1. Graduates of Schools of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering, in Computer Engineering and Informatics, as well as any other relevant specialty.
2. Graduates of University Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Materials Science, as well as any other relevant specialty.
3. Graduates of Departments of Informatics or Information Sciences.
4. Graduates of the Hellenic Army Academy, of the Hellenic Naval Academy and the Hellenic Air Force Academy.

The graduates of the Postgraduate (M.Sc.) program will receive a Diploma of Postgraduates Studies (M.Sc.) in «Quantum Computing and Quantum Technologies».

The timeframe for online admission applications is from May 4, 2026, to June 15, 2026.

Final deadline for online applications is Monday, June 15, 2026 at 13.00 local time (CET+1.00).

Courses will be taught online via live distance learning. Maximum number of students: Fifty (50).

To receive the M.Sc. degree students must successfully complete eight (8) courses and write a Master’s thesis.

Applicants should send via email their application along with the following documents to: protocol-quantum@ee.duth.gr.

1. Application (The application form is available for download in the program’s website: https://quantum.ee.duth.gr).
2. Copy of Bachelor’s degree, Ptychion or Diploma.
3. For degrees obtained from non-Greek universities, both the institution and the degree title must be validated by NARIC (https://www.doatap.gr/home_english/organization_english/).
4. Transcript of undergraduate courses and degrees.
5. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
6. If candidates have professional experience in areas relevant to the M.Sc. program’s objective, they should also submit any document certifying this experience.
7. If candidates have research experience, they should submit copies of published papers or conference proceedings.
8. Certificate of English language competency at least at C1 level. Candidates that obtained any University degree in programs taught in English, or English is their native language do not have to certify their competency in English.
9. One or more letters of recommendation.
10. Copies of other M.Sc. or Ph.D. degrees, if any.
11.  Any other document that will contribute to their evaluation.

Applicants who do not hold a foreign language certificate (level C1) have to attend an evaluation examination in English language on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Candidates possessing a State Certificate of language proficiency at level C1 or an equivalent certification, as well as Graduates from foreign universities where courses are conducted in English, are excluded from the examination. Candidates that are required to participate in the foreign language evaluation examination and will not attend the examination session are excluded from the selection process.

Qualified candidates will be interviewed on Wednesday, June 17; Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 19, 2026.

Tuition Fees: 4.500 euros, (may be paid in whole or in three installments of 1.500 € at the beginning of each of the three semesters)
