Τρία ερευνητικά κέντρα με ηγετικό ρόλο στις Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες διεθνώς, το Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και το Ερευνητικό Κέντρο «ΑΘΗΝΑ», συνεργάζονται στη δημιουργία του μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος "Ψηφιακές Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες" (MSc in Digital Humanities),
που θα αρχίσει να δέχεται φοιτητές από το ακαδημαϊκό έτος, 2024-2025. Το Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα απευθύνεται σε πτυχιούχους Τμημάτων Ανθρωπιστικών και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών, σε πτυχιούχους Πληροφορικής, Επιστήμης Πληροφορίας, Τεχνολογιών Ψηφιακής Βιομηχανίας, Θετικών Επιστημών και Πολυτεχνικών Σχολών.
Η φοίτηση στο νέο πρόγραμμα θα οδηγεί στην απονομή Διπλώματος Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών στις «Ψηφιακές Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες (MSc in Digital Humanities)», σε μία από τις ειδικεύσεις:
(1) Αναλυτική Δεδομένων για Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες,
(2) Τεχνολογίες τρισδιάστατης αναπαράστασης,
(3) Επαυξημένες Κειμενικές Σπουδές,
(4) Γεωγραφικά Συστήματα Πληροφοριών.
Καλούνται οι ενδιαφερόμενοι/ες να υποβάλουν φάκελο υποψηφιότητας για το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2024-2025, μέχρι τις 20 Σεπτεμβρίου 2024 (ΠΑΡΑΤΑΣΗ). The Departments of History and Archaeology, Philology, History and Philosophy of Science and Digital Industry Technologies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Cyprus, and the Institute for Language and Speech Processing of ‘ATHENA’ Research Centre organise the graduate programme under the title “MSc in Digital Humanities”.
The programme invites prospective students to express their interest in studying in the academic year 2024 – 2025 from August 8 to September 20 2024.
The Programme is currently in the process of being accredited by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) and will accept students and start operating after its accreditation. Barring any entirely unexpected delay in the accreditation, the Programme is expected to start operating in October 2024.
The aim of the MSc in Digital Humanities is to offer scientific expertise and to be a starting point for the development and expansion of research in Digital Humanities, which is an evolving and of significant scientific, social and economic importance domain, necessary for the protection of the digital heritage internationally.
It offers four (4) specialisations:
The Programme provides students with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed in their field, together with a range of career opportunities in academia, research, cultural heritage, and beyond.
The Programme is innovative and offers in-depth knowledge and expertise in the field of Digital Humanities (DH), designed for experts and enthusiasts in Philology, Archaeology, History, Philosophy, Informatics, and Information Science, among others.
The Programme will be taught by members of the three cooperating institutions, as well as by distinguished scholars from other Greek or foreign institutions. The Programme admits graduates from Departments of Humanities and Social Sciences, Informatics and Information Science/Technologies and Digital Industry Technologies, of the country or Departments of recognised cognate institutions abroad, as well as graduates of T.E. I. related cognitive object.
The maximum number of students admitted to the Master's degree Programme is set at fifteen (15) per specialisation, sixty (60) in total. If the number of successful candidates in a direction is less than five (5), the Programme Committee may decide not to operate the specific specialisation for the specific academic year. The applicants of such specialisations will be evaluated for the other specialisations they have declared in their application.
The Programme can also be attended by students from international student exchange programs, such as the ERASMUS+ program, in accordance with bilateral agreements in effect.
The duration of study leading to obtaining a Master's Degree is defined in three (3) academic semesters. Each specialization includes two semesters of attending courses and one semester of preparing the M.Sc. thesis.

Evaluation
The evaluation of the candidates and the selection of the admitted ones is based on the following criteria and with a rating scale from 0 to 100 evaluation points:
Tuition Fees
For their participation in the "MSc in Digital Humanities (Digital Humanities)", postgraduate students pay tuition fees totalling four thousand (4,000) euros, which will be distributed as follows: 1,500 euros for each semester of teaching, per specialisation, per student and 1000 euros for the semester in which the thesis is prepared.
The deadlines for payment of the tuition fee will be announced by the Programme Committee. The courses will be held at the premises of the Dept. History and Archaeology at the Campus of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Transitional Provision
After the accreditation of the Postgraduate Programme “M.Sc. in Digital Humanities” the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) a Call for Admission of Postgraduate Students will be released. The candidates who have already expressed their interest in this Call for Expression of Interest in the Programme, and have already submitted the necessary documents, they will not submit again their documents.
