YEAR 1
All EUROSUD students start at UAM and complete 60 ECTS spread over two semesters. During semester one (S1), students enrol for 4 electives and the compulsory course “Research Design and Methods”. During semester two (S2), students enrol for the compulsory courses “Social challenges in Southern Europe and Democracy and Government in Southern Europe” plus one elective offered by the master’s in Democracy and Government (DG) and the courses “Processes of democratic transition in the Arab World” and “Democratization and reforms in Turkey and Iran” offered by the master’s in Arab studies and contemporary Islam (AR). All courses are worth six ECTS and are taught in English.

Elective courses that have less than five students enrolled may not be taught. Affected students will be notified for their relocation and enrolment in other subjects. The offer of elective courses may undergo minor modifications before the start of classes for reasons of adjustments in the teaching organization of the master’s degree, in which case, they will be announced appropriately.
